Bintang

Beer Description

Originally brewed and sold simply as "Bir Heineken," the brand was strategically renamed Bintang (Indonesian for "Star") in the 1950s to protect the business from anti-colonial sentiment while retaining Heineken's iconic red star logo. After a decade of government control, Heineken reclaimed the brewery and introduced "Bintang Baru" (New Bintang), a formula specifically adjusted to be lighter and more "tropical-friendly" than the European original.
