DB Double Brown
DB Double Brown is a naturally fermented bitter beer from DB Breweries in Auckland — New Zealand's most iconic economy beer and one of the most recognisable names in Kiwi drinking culture. At 4% ABV it is priced below the mainstream DB brands as a deliberate economy-segment offering — not marketed heavily in order to keep costs as low as possible. Colloquially known throughout New Zealand as DoBro, the beer has a loyal following that transcends its budget positioning. In 2004 Double Brown won the prestigious BrewNZ New Zealand Draught Beer of the Year Award — a remarkable achievement for a beer that positions itself as the affordable, no-nonsense option. The Double Brown brand traces its roots back to the early days of Dominion Breweries and has been a constant in New Zealand's beer landscape for decades. Brewed at DB's main Waitemata Brewery in Auckland. Heineken became the ultimate parent through the APB acquisition in 2012.
