Edelweiss Hefetrüb

Edelweiss Hefetrüb is the flagship wheat beer of the Edelweiss brand, launched in 1986 under Brau Union Österreich and now Austria's best-selling and most celebrated Weizenbier by a considerable margin. Naturally cloudy from suspended yeast — the Hefetrüb name literally means 'yeast-hazy' — it pours golden yellow with a rich creamy head and delivers classic Bavarian wheat beer aromas: fruity banana esters, gentle clove spice and a refreshing effervescence. Brewed using twice as much wheat as barley in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, it is lightly hopped with a smooth, subtly sweet character. Since 2012 it has been brewed exclusively at Heineken's Zipf brewery in the Austrian Alpine foothills — a fitting home for Austria's most iconic wheat beer. Multiple European Beer Star award winner including Gold in 2020. Heineken acquired Brau Union in 2003.
