Sainte-Ame
Beer Description
The Medieval Origin: During the late 14th and early 15th centuries, religious institutions and local foundations named after Saint-Amé (such as regional priories or the historic Hôpital Sainte-Ame foundations) kept strict ledgers of their grain allocations, brewing rights, and taxes.
When Brasserie de l'Union Messine produced it in the 1930s, they weren't inventing a new brand from scratch. They were actively resurrecting a highly historic, legendary regional name to market their premium line.
