Schleppe No. 3 Imperial IPA

Beer Description

Schleppe No. 3 Imperial IPA is part of the brewery's numbered specialty range launched from 2014 onwards, positioning Schleppe as one of Austria's most forward-thinking craft breweries despite its 400-year heritage. At 8.2% ABV and 50 IBU, it is the most powerful expression in the Schleppe portfolio — deep golden to copper in colour with a dense creamy head, pronounced malt aromas, intense hop character and fruity estery notes described as reminiscent of rose. The Imperial IPA style references the historical practice of heavily hopping English ale for the long sea voyage to India, a story Schleppe applies with genuine Austrian craft ambition. First documented on Untappd in March 2016, confirming its place in the post-2014 Heineken-era specialty range.
