Schleppe Pale Ale
Schleppe No. 1 Pale Ale is the flagship craft beer and first numbered specialty of the Schleppe Brauerei in Klagenfurt, Carinthia — a brewery with documented origins back to 1607. Launched as the brewery's first creative beer following its transformation into a specialty house, it shimmers in a vivid orange colour with a fine creamy head. The aroma delivers exotic passion fruit and rhubarb, followed by a resinous, dry and fruity hop character at 5.3% ABV and 40 IBU. Brewed using the brewery's own protected Kreuzbergl spring water and Mühlviertel hops from north of the Danube, it stands as a deliberately modern, hop-forward statement from one of the oldest breweries in the Heineken portfolio. Schleppe was fully integrated into Brau Union — and thereby into the Heineken family — in 2014 through the complete acquisition of Vereinigte Kärntner Brauereien.
