Silva

Silva is one of Romania's most iconic and respected beer brands — born in the heart of Transylvania approximately 40 years ago and recognised as Romania's first exported beer. Named after the Latin word for forest, it embodies the patriarchal spirit of Transylvania: tradition, refinement and harmony. Brewed at Miercurea Ciuc and Hațeg in its early Heineken years, Silva entered the Heineken Romania portfolio through the 2003 Brau Union acquisition. In 2017 the brand underwent a major repositioning by Brandient, repositioned as an Authentic Romanian Craft-Quality beer brand and winning the Red Dot Award for Packaging Design. The new handcrafted label design introduced the distinctive 'Focus' brand asset and a range extension including an Ale — a bold departure from the mainstream lager tradition. Today Silva stands as the flagship premium local brand in Heineken Romania's portfolio.
