Heineken Extra Vers

Heineken Extra Vers ('Extra Fresh') is a short-shelf-life unfiltered variant of Heineken Lager, developed and sold exclusively in the Netherlands. The concept behind Extra Vers is simple: deliver Heineken to Dutch consumers in the freshest possible state, exactly as the brewers taste it themselves in the brewery every day. After brewing at Zoeterwoude, the beer is delivered directly to Dutch supermarkets in refrigerated transport in paper-wrapped bottles to protect against light, with a dramatically shorter shelf life than standard Heineken. The result is a beer that is softer in carbonation, rounder in body and slightly more complex than the standard filtered Heineken — closer to what the brewers experience fresh from the tank. Available in Dutch supermarkets only, in paper-wrapped 30cl bottles.
