Beer Description

Walia is Heineken Ethiopia's flagship brand, launched in August 2014 at the new Kilinto brewery — just in time for the Ethiopian New Year (11 September). Named after the Walia ibex, an endemic mountain antelope found only in the Simien Mountains of Ethiopia. Brewed with 100% pure malt and locally sourced Ethiopian barley via Heineken Ethiopia's local sourcing programme working with over 50,000 farmers. Within three years of launch Walia exceeded 2 million hectolitres.
