  • Named after the Kilinto area of Akaki Kality sub-city, Addis Ababa Municipality.

Heineken Ethiopia's greenfield flagship brewery, built at a cost of EUR 110 million and inaugurated on 15 January 2015 by Heineken CEO Jean-François van Boxmeer and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. Located in Akaki Kality on the outskirts of Addis Ababa on a compound of over 200,000 square metres. Fully owned by Heineken Ethiopia Share Company (HBSC). Production began in July 2014 ahead of the formal inauguration. The Kilinto brewery hosts the Heineken A-yeast, enabling local production of the flagship Heineken brand since 2016. Also home to the Star Academy training centre. The brewery has more than tripled its volume since opening and won the 10th Round Ethiopian Quality Award.
