  • Originally named Bedele Brewery Share Company under state ownership (1993–2011). Renamed under Heineken Ethiopia Share Company (HBSC) from 2011.

The Bedele Brewery was established in 1993 as a state-owned brewery in the town of Bedele, 400 km from Addis Ababa, in the Illubabor Zone of the Oromia region. Acquired by Heineken in August 2011 for USD 85 million as part of a USD 163 million deal that also included Harar Brewery. Since acquisition the brewery has undergone significant improvements and received the TPM Iron Certification Award. Celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023. Fully owned by Heineken Ethiopia Share Company (HBSC).
