Van Vollenhoven Extra Stout

Beer Description

Van Vollenhoven Extra Stout is a historic top-fermented dark ale based on a retrieved 18th-century recipe from the "De Gekroonde Valk" brewery. The process uses a complex mix of pale, brown, black, and colored malts along with sugar to create a rich, full-bodied profile designed originally for global export. While Heineken briefly produced a "lagered" version after the acquisition, modern revivals have returned to the traditional warm-fermentation and bottle-conditioning methods.
